Some train operators have automatic gates, which require you to scan a ticket before letting you through. It depends from country to country whether your pass can be scanned here, so here's an overview of how you can proceed.
- Your Pass can be scanned in: France, Italy, the Netherlands (turn off NFC before scanning)
- Your pass cannot be scanned in: the United Kingdom, Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. Here, please ask a staff member to let you through.
Note: Your Pass can also not be scanned at Brussels Airport in Belgium. This is because the Pass is not valid without a supplement. Please purchase this at a machine or ticket counter, and contact the staff thereafter to let you through. For more information on this, check out this page.
