All seat reservations are subject to the refund policy of the individual railway company operating that route. Because of this, most seat reservations are non-refundable or only refundable in part. You can review the offered refund before confirming your cancellation.
If your seat reservation could not be used for reasons outside of your control, such as train cancellations or delays of prior connections, please do not cancel your seat reservation but contact us instead.
To cancel a seat reservation, please go to your reservations overview in your Interrail account. There, please click on the trash can icon next to the train you would like to cancel. Cancelling a reservation will remove it for all travelers in your booking. After confirming, it might take a few minutes to see the changes in your account. We'll send you email updates on the status of your refund, along with any further instructions if relevant.
If a refund is offered for the reservation, please note that e-tickets and paper tickets are processed differently. For e-tickets, the refund will be processed automatically. For paper tickets, you will be provided a return address to which you will need to send the tickets. Once the paper tickets are returned to us, the refund will be processed after which you will receive a confirmation. Once a refund is issued, it should be received within 3-5 business days.
If you receive an error message, or are unable to see the reservation in your overview, please let us know as soon as possible.
If your train was cancelled because of special circumstances, such as cancellations, please contact us here. If you've already cancelled your seat reservation and agreed to the refund offered, we cannot provide any further refund of the remaining costs.
